Mind works like banks of a river while life escapes like a river – Shanti Meditation

Can you step into the same river again? Some of you will answer ‘yes’ and others ‘no’. The common answer will be ‘yes’. You may say that you have visited a river many times in your life. You liked it as it flows from the mountain to land. You sat beside the bank of a river and enjoyed being there – in the state of calm, joy, and quietness. Others will answer ‘no’ as you go a little deeper and have seen, how much a river has changed over the years (Shanti Meditation) – the banks, the land near the banks, and so on.

Oh, I am talking about human life as a river and existence beyond

But I am talking about life which is like a river. Someone said, ‘plastic flowers never die’. The answer is ‘yes’ because what is there in plastic flower to die, it is already dead. There is no life in it, there is no flow, no change, no growth, no development, and of course no evolution. Life is in flux. It is a river. It flows and flows. It knows its nature is to flow to move to the eternal truth. It flows not because we impose –few desires, problems, cravings, successes, failures, and so on. No, its nature is flow – a movement. It knows existence can only manifest in the flow of life whereas existence does not flow. It enjoys the flow of life. The life or life force is one of many manifestations or extensions of an eternal self or real self. The river flows not because it wants to catch the existence. It flows because it perceives the existence or the eternal self from moment to moment. That moment is ‘present’ and here and now. We miss this flow of ‘present’, we miss the existence too. No teacher, no authority, no outer interference is required to discover this eternal self, beyond, behind, and within the flow of life. You are your teacher, your master of destiny.

Become aware, mind hijacked peace, love, wisdom, and love

You are the disciple and you are the master. The master in you is the eternal self and disciple is the life, mind, the body, the ego, the intellect. What flows, what changes are a flow – note this fact and the truth. What holds this flow of the body, life, mind, intellect, ego, and all that changes are the eternal self, always in peace, calm, joy, happiness, wisdom, and love. Whenever you are wise, happy, joyful, in love, and bliss, it is your eternal self. Even when you are in joy because some praised you, it is the eternal self that manifested through your ego, intellect, mind, body, and life. Joy came from eternal self and hijacked by ego, mind, body, and life. Whenever you are calm, peaceful, and in the moments of love, it was your eternal self that revealed the abundance of love, calm, and joy. You may feel it has come from outside, because, your mind and ego hijacked it and claimed that they are responsible for this calm, love, and peace.

You are always with and is eternal self but the mind says – no

We are made of peace, happiness, wisdom, love, truth, and pure awareness. Our real substance is pure consciousness which is virgin, untouched, natural, and purest of the pure. It cannot be polluted. It can neither be altered not adulterated. How can ear, can ever taste a thing, which is the job of a tongue. How can the eternal self which is eternal, all-pervading, abundance be altered or polluted by whatever changes in life – body, mind, intellect, and ego, and so on? Anything that is subjected ‘to change’ can never change, alter whatever is ‘eternal, infinite and all-pervading’. Change is finite in itself, maybe infinite in a relationship. Whatever is ‘change’ meets with birth, growth, old age, death. Whatever is eternal is always ‘fresh’, ‘pure’, ‘unpolluted’, and ‘joyful’. How can I catch the sky even if mind claims it is here, very near when I am traveling in a plane, flying at 30000 ft. above the earth? This ‘30000’ ft is just a fraction of the infinite sky which is above the plane. Similarly, whenever you experience joy and peace, it is a fraction of the abundance of joy and peace of that eternal self, which is as too far from the mind to catch or feel or know or awaken to it. The mind has to go. The mind must go. The mind should be dropped when you know it cannot reach the eternal self. The extraordinary moment in life, when the mind drops itself; when the mind does not like to go for another change outside; when the mind says ‘enough is enough’. In those moments, the mind dissolves, transmutes and we face the eternal self. This is meditation. This is a state of meditation. This is a virgin experience of meditation. This is what masters had been talking for years through authentic yoga tradition, Tantra tradition, and spirituality.

Jump into the river and leave the banks to be in meditation

You know pain/pleasure, sorrow/happiness, hot/cold, high/low and so many other dualities in the world. Do they not change? Yes, they change, they are changing from moment to moment. But when your mind stops due to duality. When the mind becomes stubborn and holds anyone duality. When your ego claims, it has the power to change to the other side of duality. What are you doing? You are simply trying to move to another side of the bank of the river i.e. life. When you try and make efforts to move to the other side of the river to reach the bank, you are simply caught in the webs that the mind has created due to ignorance. You know, what happens, the mind refuses to flow with the river of life. And any refusal of a big stone in the river slowly melts or crushed into sand. I had seen the joy of putting both my feet into Ganges River and enjoyed the touch, sensations of cool sand. While feeling that sand, I said deep within to big stone, ‘oh, so big you were a couple of years and resisted to flow with the river, you met your own death. Now, nobody even cares about you. Nobody knows you. Nobody will ever know you.
That is what we do all our life. We resist, react, resent, and revolt. There are many other words that can fit here, in relation to mental activity in life from moment to moment. What needs to be done? I say, in reality ‘nothing’. But intellect further asks, ‘what it means’? I am trying to explain through intellect which intellect does not understand and that word is so easily used without awareness. I think and believe, you know it. Still, I write here – ‘let it go’; ‘accept whatever comes and goes’. But even after repeating millions of times the above phrases, we are not in meditation. We are not awakened. We are still searching. When you recall, say, remember – ‘let it go’ or ‘just accept’ and discover deep within, there is no resistance, reaction, revolt, desiring, giving, taking, receiving. You discover within that as if ‘you are not there’. You have jumped into the river. You will sink deep down and go beyond the river and come face to face with eternal self. You have passed the examination of existence that has been set by the eternal self. You will be in joy, peace, calm, bliss, and love. You will now never return to the mind that was holding the banks of the river of life. Your mind will say with a smile, ‘I am in peace’. ‘I am the peace’. And now I know, experience ‘what is Shanti Meditation’
Be in peace and keep smiling
